The collection was created to build a community of researchers interested in Klebsiella-phage-human interactions that can work together and increase the resources and knowledge available to move Phage Therapy forward.

You can contribute to KlebPhaCol through your research. Here is how:
Request stocks of phage and/or bacterial strains for your research
Add your Klebsiella-targeting phages and/or Klebsiella strains to KlebPhaCol

To inspire you, here are some questions in the field that still require addressing, where KlebPhaCol can be applied:
What are the major determinants of phage host tropism in encapsulated hosts?
Does this change in different environments (e.g. gut vs. respiratory tract)?
Are there superior phage families to target encapsulated hosts?
Is Klebsiella associated with specific anti-phage defense systems?
Is this clade-specific?
Are Klebsiella tissue infections clade-specific?
Can Phage Therapy be an adjuvant to immune clearance?
Can phages be used for gut microbiome modulation in humans?

FAQs
Can I request part of the collection?
Of course! You can request only strains, only phages, some strains, some phages, or all of its shareable component. It will depend on your research question of interest.
Is there a fee for requesting the collection?
To help support our packaging and processing costs, we will be introducing a small fee starting in November 2025.
GBP 50 will apply to small requests including up to 10 strains and 1–52 phages.
GBP 100 will apply to requests including more than 10 strains.
Early career researchers may apply for a fee waiver.
Please note that shipping costs will continue to be the responsibility of the requester.
Is there an associated MTA with requesting the collection?
A material transfer agreement (MTA) will need to be signed by those users interested in obtaining the collection. See more Terms of Use here.
